Magnificent Movement!
FREELANDER has his nose down to the ground, hoping to pick up the scent of his next meal.
He has walked for hours and now its time to eat!
I love how Tony approaches his Bear carvings.
You cannot predict how Tony will portray his bears.
But in Freelander's case, Tony has elevated his carving by showing us a bear whose style is angular, and square.
All the traditional realistic curves have been squared off .
Look at his face and his claws.
There are not realistic but "abstract".
I look at Freelander and see an artist who is teasing us by challenging our ideas of "What is a Bear?"
Tony instinctually knows how to inspire.
