Inuit art: Hockey Player
Inuit Artist: Jimmy Iqaluq
Size: 7" high , 7" wide, 3" deep
Community: Sanikiluaq, NU
Stone: Argillite
id: d-88377ajjjy
Provenance, June, 2020: This is the last piece we received during the Covid crisis. Jimmy is a huge Montreal Canadiens fan. And he understands that I am an even bigger fan. So in the spirit of the NHL announcing the playoffs would happen, and more importantly, the Montreal Canadians would squeak into the 24th and last playoff spot, Jimmy made this precious, once in a lifetime piece. It is my absolute favorite piece in the entire gallery.

Did you know Jimmy's famous loons with the red eye (one on display at the National Art Gallery of Canada) is the basis of our signature company Logo?

This is an absolutely rare piece. Only made in commemoration for the Montreal Canadiens, the suspension of the hockey season, and their soon to be playoff apparence in this years playoffs.
