Nuna has carved Vanilla out of WHITE MARBLE.
The serpentine stone the Inuit carvers commonly used is "soft" and "easy" to use.
Marble is dense and much more difficult to carve.
Carvers will use other types of stone if the serpentine stone is not available to them but it is not their preference.
I have seen very few White Marble Dancing Bears from Nuna.
The white stone is obviously a more realistic colour for a Polar Bear.
Its matte finish illuminates all Vanilla's requisite details that we see In a Nuna Parr bear.
Parr has given us a gift with Vanilla.
She is spirited, with a delicate balance, crisp lines and fluidity that is common to all Parr Dancing Bears.
At 14" tall, Vanilla is substantial and majestic.
